The Fishtrap rest area though not large it still provides picnic tables under large shade trees. The restroom facilities were clean when we were there. EV charging stations were recently installed as they are becoming more common in B.C. rest areas. There are several large sign boards providing local information, map of the Circle Route and information about invasive plants. The South Thompson River is nearby however no access from the rest area.
There are two Fast Chargers and a Level 2 that were installed in 2018.
"B.C. drivers will have access to 11 new public electric vehicle (EV) charging stations added to highway rest areas throughout the province this fall (2018). Three of these stations are situated in rest areas on the Yellowhead Highway running through the North Thompson Valley; Fish Trap, Little Fort, and Wire Cache."
