The church is in the small Aboriginal community of Raukkan on the shore of Lake Alexandrina and was built of local stone in 1869.
David Unaipon pictured on the note was a writer and an inventor with many un-patented inventions including a centrifugal motor,drawings for a helicopter design based on the principle of the boomerang and trying to achieve perpetual motion.
