This large sign is situated on the approach to the main car park in the old fishertoun of Auchmithie, a tiny village above the cliffs on the Angus coast three miles north-east of the town of Arbroath.
A minor road from Arbroath is the only route to Auchmithie and ends in the village above the harbour. Just before here on the left is a small car parking area and this sign. The sign features a map of the village along with old photographs and a brief history of its fishing heritage, including being the original home of the Arbroath Smokie.
