The Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort is south of Brodie Mountain Road in Berkshire county, Massachusetts. The mountain coaster consists of a sled that takes the rider from the start/finish chalet to the top of 3600 feet of twisting stainless steel track. During the downhill ride, the rider controls the speed of the descent with handle brakes. A rider aged between three years and nine years can ride a sled with an older rider. This was the first mountain coaster on the East Coast.
Immediately east of the mountain coaster is a similar adventure experience, the alpine super slide. The riders walk up to the top of side-by-side identical fibreglass courses. The speed of the rider's sled is controlled by the sled's brakes. Riders must not get within 80 feet of the sled ahead on the course. The brakes do not work in the rain. In the case of rain, the coaster and slide rides will be closed.
Type: Mountain Slide
Price for a ride per person?: $8
