The glass mosaic "Der Sport" by the artist Eduard Bargheer was produced from 1962 to 1963 in the August Wagner workshops in Berlin and mounted on the north wall of a former gymnasium. After the mosaic in 2003 had been listed, it was brought to safety before the demolition of the gymnasium in 2006 and placed on the square in front of the stadium.
The glass mosaic has a glass surface of almost 200 m² and is one of the most important works of construction-related art in Germany.
