The Lexington History Center is located in the former Fayette County Courthouse. The structure itself is a piece of history. Built in 1898-1901, it has housed the county facilities until 2001.

The Lexington History Center is also located in a historic district listed on the National Registry of Historic Places. It's a great place to start if your just visiting town for a day or need to do some serious research. This museum showcases numerous exhibits regarding Lexington's history, and offers numerous programs tailored to all ages.
