"Timp" as it is known to the people in Utah and Salt Lake counties towers over the Utah and Heber Vallies. It can be reached from two well defined hiking trails. One trail starts in Sundance up Provo Canyon. The other trail starts at Timpooneke campground up American Fork Canyon. Both trails merge together just short of an area called the "saddle." The hike to the top of Mount Timp is a popular hike that is done in the summer, early fall time.
The view from the top is a view that can't be matched by any other peak in the area. Don't forget to sign your name in logbook inside the shed.
To log this waymark post a picture of you or just a picture at the top.
Search "Mount Timpanogos" in Wikipedia for more information and enjoy the hike. Using my gps I had the Timpooneke trail as a 6.8 mile hike that increases about 4,800 feet in elevation.
Altitude in Feet: 11749
