From an information panel on site:

Sherman Tank Cutaway

This Canadian military used the cutaway hull of a Sherman tank as a training tool for vehicle operators and technicians.

The Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers cut away parts of this post-war Sherman tank to expose its components for personnel in training. This opening up of the tank allowed trainees to understand how components operated and how they were connected to each other. Similar cutaways were used to familiarize tank crews with their vehicle's controls and weaponry.
