The printed sign
is set at an angle on a square steel post, beside the rough side track to Bald Rock. It has a line drawing of an Echidna. The text is:

"The floral communities of Bald Rock support a variety of wildlife with macropods being quite common. Of these, the eastern grey kangaroo, the red necked wallaby and the swamp wallaby are often seen throughout the park.

"Of the shy and less common native animals seen in the park, the quaint little echidna is sometimes observed crossing the walking track in this vicinity. When surprised the echidna raises its spines and begins to dig downwards into the soil as an immediate means of defence.

"Native animals are most active very early in the morning again late in the afternoon around dusk.

"The common wombat and the endangered koala are now rarely seen in the park The main factor in their demise is believed to be predation from feral (introduced) animals, namely the fox and the pig.

"The National Parks and Wildlife Service organises regular baiting and trapping programs for the control of feral species and continuously monitors their presence in the park."
