"October 1863 reports that Blomfield donated a stained glass window. It is the centrepiece of the five windows behind the altar and it appears that the other four are slightly later additions, all five not being recorded until February 1864. The lower portion of the window includes the words “It is finished” which is entirely in keeping with its design of the crucifixion. All these windows were supplied by Heaton, Bath and Bayne of London, a company which produced stained glass from 1862 to 1953, so these are some one of their earliest."

These windows have been in place for over 150 years. It would be interesting to know when it was first realised that the top of one does not match the bottom half.
