An attractive small stone-built building tucked away in a corner of the town centre.
Foundation stone text:- "LAID BY THOMAS LLOYD JONES MAYOR 25 MARCH 1915 CHARLES COTTOM EX-MAYOR EDWARD PARRY TOWN CLERK"
From their website:-
"Denbigh Town Council came into being on the 1st April 1974 following local government reorganization. Prior to this, Denbigh town had its own local authority - Denbigh Borough Council with 16 councilors being led by a Mayor and 3 Alderman. The Borough Council was formed on the 1st January 1836.
The existing Town Council has 15 councilors representing the three wards of the town: Upper, Middle and Lower. There are 5 councilors representing the Upper Ward, 3 the Middle Ward and 7 the Lower Ward. According to the 2011 Census, the population of Denbigh is 9,876.
The Town Walls are of great interest, and there is a new project called 'Walls and Trails' which spans between the town site and the castle area and their walls. These walls held back Oliver Cromwell's forces during the Civil War. If you want to walk the walls, you can borrow the openings by asking at the Library in the center of Denbigh, and then enjoy an unforgettable experience!
Burgess Gate is the main entrance to the old town with its two towers now on the civic seal of Denbigh. Another building worth seeing is Leicester Church, and although not completely finished, it was built by Robert Dudley, Earl of Leicester, the alleged love of Queen Elizabeth the First."
