A lighthouse in its earliest form, was a marker to warn or tell ships where they were and of any dangers, fires would have been lit near by.
Commonly known as "the pepper pot" structure, This was where the "lookouts" watched over the seas (Earliest form of Coast Guard)
The weather vale has long since lost its pointer. It is not sure what design it was, but given the strong prevailing winds out on the headland, the pointer would have worked hard..
