The inscription below reads -
To the memory of William Devenport of Henbury in the County of Chester, Esqr who by Mary his wife had issue William Grace Issabel Thomazen and died 24th June in the 37 year of his age.
Sacred to the memory of Mary the eldest daughter of Thomas Milward of Eaton Dovedale in the County of Derby, Kt, Justice of Chester and his wife of seven years of William Devenport of Henbury whom corsum'd to death on Epiphany 1639.
