CZ: Antonín Zápotocký (19. prosince 1884 Zákolany – 13. listopadu 1957 Praha) byl ceskoslovenský komunistický politik, odborový predák a pozdeji premiér Ceskoslovenska, který se stal druhým ceskoslovenským komunistickým prezidentem po Klementu Gottwaldovi (v letech 1953 - 1957)a pátým od vzniku samostatného Ceskoslovenska. K nejkontroverznejším krokum jeho prezidentského úradování patrí menová reforma z roku 1953.
Bronzová socha Antonína Zápotockého v Zákolanech byla odhalena 19. prosince 1984 jako pripomínka 100. výrocí jeho narození. Je kopií jeho sochy, která stála na Kladne (autor Viktor Dobrovolný, 1971), a která byla odstranena 22.10.1991. Na soklu není žádný nápis. Pomník budí mezi obyvateli obce emoce.
Výška sochy - 3m, materiál sochy - bronz, výška piedestalu - 2m, materiál piedestalu - pískovec, socha má na sobe pánský oblek s vestou a na ní 5 knoflíku. Postava je stojící s mírne nakrocenou levou nohou.

ENG: Antonín Zápotocký (December 19, 1884 Zákolany - November 13, 1957 Prague) was a Czechoslovak communist politician, trade union leader and later Prime Minister of Czechoslovakia, who became the second Czechoslovak Communist president after Klement Gottwald (1953-1957) and the fifth since the establishment of independent Czechoslovakia. One of the most controversial steps of his presidency is the 1953 monetary reform.
The bronze statue of Antonín Zápotocký in Zákolany was unveiled on 19 December 1984 as a reminder of the 100th anniversary of his birth. It is a copy of his statue, which stood in Kladno (author Viktor Dobrovolný, 1971), and which was removed after 1989. There is no sign on the plinth. The monument wakes up emotions among the inhabitants of the village.
