Rail worker's hut, constructed of prefabricated concrete with iron framed window. Which suggest was constructed during the 1930-40s. The rail line continued until the 1960's.

The railway line runs between Tavistock and Okehampton some 9 miles long, where connections could be made to other areas across the country.
These huts were small "home stations" for a gang of workmen who maintained a 3 mile stretch of the rail line (one and half miles either side of the hut)
The huts were used for shelter and rest
The disused rail line is now a bridle way and cycle path.
