The Catoosa Post Office is located at 1805 South Cherokee Street (Route 66), southwest of town. This is a large one-story brick building with a row of fixed pane windows along the front. A plaque near the entrance indicates that this building was dedicated in 1991. The post office sits sideways to the highway, with two large parking lots in front.

The town of Catoosa, named after a nearby hill, was part of the Cherokee nation in the 1800s. A post office was established here in 1883. Located 14 miles northeast of Tulsa, it has grown as a bedroom community. In 1971, the town became the location of the Port of Catoosa, one of the largest inland rivers ports in the country.
