St Peter's Churchyard
This precinct is closely associated with the Goodman family of
Exmewe House (where Barclays Bank is now situated).
Edward (d.1560) a dealer in textiles was mayor. His
son Gabriel, Dean of Westminster, refounded
Ruthin School in 1574 and endowed almshouses
here in 1590. They were rebuilt in 1865 and
the school moved to MoldRoad
in 1893."
