This tree is dedicated to and planted in remembrance of the Canadian soldiers who were killed and wounded during the Battle of Vimy Ridge which took place in northern France in 1917.

This tree planted here on 7 May 2018 by the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 314, is descendant from an oak that fell at the Battle of Vimy Ridge 9-12 April 1917, at which 10,598 Canadian soldiers were killed or wounded.

Location of the tree: On Strandherd and Prince of Wales Drives, not far from the entrance to Vimy Memorial Bridge and next to Claudette Cain Park, in Ottawa, Ontario.
