This tree planted here on 7 May 2018 by the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 314, is descendant from an oak that fell at the Battle of Vimy Ridge 9-12 April 1917, at which 10,598 Canadian soldiers were killed or wounded.

Location of the tree: On Strandherd and Prince of Wales Drives, not far from the entrance to Vimy Memorial Bridge and next to Claudette Cain Park, in Ottawa, Ontario.
