There's a full history of Trousdale's at (

At that time, you could buy rubber boots next to the cheese fridge or Campbell's Soup next to the shovels. And because there was so much darn stuff, Percy would often ask you how much you thought something was worth. A bag of nails would be hand-weighed and estimated. And you never left feeling like you didn't get a good deal.
After Percy's death and his son's investment in a Home Hardware franchise, it was Ginny that transformed the store to what is now. Now you can get old fashioned candies next to fine women's wear, locally made wooden bowls next to locally written books, and eclectic furniture next to modern kitchen gadgets. It's a neat place to stroll and they have ice cream and coffee to help you chill.
