Beaty-Mulhausen Community Park is located on the south side of E. Main Street east of the downtown area. The park is closed from 11:00PM to 6:00AM unless reserved. The park contains several small playground areas, two large picnic pavilions and five small individual pavilions. The park is named for two respected local families in town.
The main feature of the park is a boomerang-shaped pond which is stock for fishing. A license is needed and certain rules apply, but the pond is stocked with six varieties of fish, and is lighted at night. A walking trail encircles the pond. On the east side of the park is located a basketball court and a football practice field.
The park is actively supported by the County Commissioner, and the local Masonic, Kiwanis and IOOF organizations.
