"Project 2013:
-Maintain quay crane from 1956, Rörink van den Broek.
-Lifting weight 3500 kg max., flight 13 mtr.
-When we bought the site of the former Arnhemse Beton Centrale for the construction of our production hall, we came into possession of this unloading crane and were able to use it for about 7 years. Due to the renovation of the quay at the Nieuwe Haven in Arnhem, the crane, which has since been declared an industrial heritage site, became unusable. It was dismantled and stored next to the company with the idea of one day being able to give it a place at one of the quays in Arnhem.
At the end of December 2012, the Foundation for Historic Ships in Arnhem came up with the idea to refurbish the crane and have it installed for the 2013 Kade Days on the Rijnkade in Arnhem at the level of the berth of historic ships. With a permit for a temporary placement of 5 years we succeeded.
The renovation of the crane has been a success with the support of the Municipality of Arnhem, several companies from Arnhem and the great help of many volunteers. (See photo banner) The crane will be festively opened during the Kade Days on 12 May 2013.
