"In the past, the village of Genappe depended partly on the parish of Vieux-Genappe and partly on the parish of Ways. At the time, the current location of the Genappe church was a chapel that depended on the parish of Ways.
This chapel was repaired in 1505, 1705, 1708, 1721 and 1808.
It was recognized as a place of worship in 1825 and then as a "branch church", a church that replaced the inadequacy of the parish church in 1836, only to be replaced by the current Saint-Jean-l'Évangéliste church, built in neoclassical style under the reign of Leopold I between 1836 and 1842.
Worship was celebrated in the new church from 1842 and its consecration took place in 1861.
His organs have been listed since October 3, 1974."
