This milestone lies on the B939 road which runs westwards from St.Andrews into the heart of the Kingdom of Fife. It is situated on the southern verge of the road just east of the village of Pitscottie.

As of most of the milestones in Fife, it is white painted whinstone a couple of feet tall, with a cast-iron cap featuring the place names in black abbreviated cursive script lettering.

The places listed are, the village of Ceres and the town of Cupar, both reasonably close by, and the town of Burntisland, a good distance away on the Firth of Forth coast. The only place listed to the east is St.Andrews.
