"The stadium of the Liberation is a football stadium located in Boulogne-sur-Mer (France) .This enclosure which has 15,034 places since the summer of 2009 is used by the Sports Union Boulogne Côte d'Opale and Boulogne Athletic Club that has the track and athletic equipment.
Boulogne-sur-Mer was hit hard by the bombings of the Second World War and the players of Boulogne were forced to play a time on a vast expanse of steep grass before finding refuge in 1947 at Henri Fonteilles stadium. They then find their stage Wibert Mill, used before the war.
The works of the Léo Lagrange municipal stadium, which will be nicknamed "Stade de la Libération", begin in October 1949. The inauguration of the new enclosure is held on June 1, 1952, but the work ends on August 15, 1956. The plans of the stadium are signed by the architect Albert Bonne.
The record crowd of stadium was recorded at the Boulogne-OM match on April 17, 2010. The first league match in the history of the US Boulogne Côte d'Opale at the Liberation Stadium - Boulogne-Grenoble Foot 38, Sunday, August 16, 2009 - had gathered 10,452 spectators, record then almost beaten at each new home meeting of the club in Ligue 1. Previously, Boulogne-Lille OSC on August 30, 1959 had collected 10,000 paying spectators.
The stadium has a covered main grandstand with numbered seats and grandstands (covered in 2006). "

Boulogne-sur-Mer fut durement touchée par les bombardements de la Seconde Guerre mondiale et les joueurs de Boulogne furent contraints de jouer un temps sur une vaste étendue d'herbe en forte pente avant de trouver refuge en 1947 au stade Henri Fonteilles. Ils retrouvent ensuite leur stade du Moulin-Wibert, utilisé avant la guerre.
Les travaux du stade municipal Léo Lagrange qui sera surnommé Stade de la Libération, débutent en octobre 1949. L'inauguration de la nouvelle enceinte se tient le 1er juin 1952, mais les travaux s'achèvent le 15 août 1956. Les plans du stade sont signés par l'architecte Albert Bonne.
L'affluence record du stade fut enregistrée à l'occasion du match Boulogne-OM le 17 avril 2010. La première rencontre de ligue 1 de l'histoire de l'US Boulogne Côte d'Opale au stade de la Libération - Boulogne-Grenoble Foot 38, le dimanche 16 août 2009 - avait rassemblée 10 452 spectateurs, record ensuite quasiment battu à chaque nouvelle rencontre à domicile du club en Ligue 1. Précédemment, Boulogne-Lille OSC le 30 août 1959 avait rassemblé 10 000 spectateurs payants.
Le stade comporte une tribune principale couverte avec sièges numérotés ainsi que des gradins (couverts en 2006). "
