"More than a coffee shop and a refreshing alternative to the traditional pub or bar, BEAR is at the forefront of the global ‘third wave’ coffee movement that sees coffee as an artisan foodstuff, rather than a quick morning pick-me-up.
From our three midlands-based stores, we offer speciality coffee, signature cocktails and craft beer accompanied by fresh, all-day dining. From breakfast to brunch, and lunch to dinner, our food menus are tailored specifically to each store and updated regularly with seasonal goodies; no matter which store you visit, there'll always be something new to try.
Whatever the time of day, pop in and see us. We'll take you seamlessly from coffee, to cocktails... and then back to coffee."

The Stone branch
Housed in a beautiful, bright ex-bank building tucked neatly in to Stone’s historic High Street, our third store has been designed to incorporate and preserve many of the site’s authentic features whilst dramatically transforming the space. We have lovingly restored the original parquet flooring, and introduced warm, earthy tones to give this bright, airy space a newfound sense of vibrancy.
The space has an abundance of cosy nooks and large social tables, as well as a secluded mezzanine space that’s almost too easy to settle in to. Pop in and grab your morning takeaway coffee or stay longer for brunch, just make sure you come and see us."

Craig shared his vision with an old school friend Michael Thorley and the pair, both with the same love for coffee and a keen sense of adventure, set about researching the market, learning about the product and developing their skills with a view to creating something special.
The entrepreneurial pair identified a gap in the UK market, specifically in market towns and cities around the Midlands where there was nothing competing with the large chains – they decided to open a single site in their hometown as a concept, allowing them to fine-tune a model that could be rolled out throughout the UK and internationally.
It all started with a coffee…"
