In Randolph, within the Central Cemetery, is this grave for Edward J. and Mary C. Mikenas that has an etched scene of sailing boats in the ocean.
The cemetery is located on the east side of North Cemetery, about a mile north of the center of Randolph. The grave is a little west of a large plaza of mausoleum holdings.
The grave is located near the cemetery road.
The marker is a red stone about three feet high, four feet wide, and a foot thick. On one side is a scene of the ocean with a sailboat close by and three in the background. In the "background on the left side is a lighthouse, identified by text below as "Nobska Lighthouse." The text on the right below the scene says, "Gone Sailing Martha's Vineyard" The sky is above the ocean, in the shape of a large cloud and featuring birds in flight.
Both the birth and death dates are listed on the grave for Mary C. Only the birth date is listed for Edward J. Thus, Mary's dates will be used below.
