Plaque Text:
No other downtown business building has been continuously occupied longer than the D.N. Lee Building constructed in 1883. Originally occupies by Lee Drug Store, the building also housed the office of Dr. P.C. Coleman upstairs. Mitchell Masonic Lodge #563 purchased the building at a Sheriff's Sale in 1905 and began meeting in the second story rooms in 1907. Other businesses, including Whipkey Printing, W.E. Watson, T.C. Donnell Grocery, Colorado Saddlery, Hicks Rubber Company and Berry Fee Hardware leased the ground floor until the lodge moved downstairs to their present home in December, 1969.
