The Connecticut River:

= is the longest and largest river in New England.
= flows 410 miles from Canada south to Long
    Island Sound.
= delivers 70% of the fresh water entering Long
    Island Sound.
= has 36 major tributaries.


The watershed:

= contains 7.2 million acres.
= covers large parts of Vermont,
    New Hampshire, Massachusetts,
    and Connecticut.
= includes 390 cities and towns.
= is home to 2.3 million people.

Everything that happens upstream affects what happens downstream.
The health of the whole watershed is important to everything living in it.

Open Easter, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day,
Columbus Day, the day after Thanksgiving, and New Year’s Day.

(Summer Hours: Open 7 days a week starting in Mid-
May, through Mid-October.)

Closed Thanksgiving Day.

Closed Christmas Day.
