A statue of Gordon Banks OBE (30 December 1937 – 12 February 2019) a goal keeper of Stoke City Football Club and England stands at the side of the road at the south eastern side of the club's stadium.

Regarded as one of the best goalkeeper's of all time he was the goalkeeper for the England International Team that won the World Cup in 1966.
The life size bronze statue depicts him in his football kit celebrating England's win in 1966. He is carrying the cup itself raised in right hand.
Two plaques in front of the statue tell his story, the right hand one being a timeline of his life and career.
