A winner display both night and day, the Baja's Tex Mex Grill neon sign mixes artistry and multiple colors across two elements spanning the entire width of this slim eatery in Providence, Rhode Island. Delicious food makes a visit doubly rewarding.

What you'll notice first when walking north or south along Thayer Street is the big green cactus shape sticking out over the sidewalk. Bright emerald green outlines of this two-sided sign grab the attention of passers-by from a couple blocks away. The name "baja's" playfully falls along the cactus trunk in white, bold, lowercase letters, save for the "j" which is a red hot chili pepper complete with green leaves. The words "TEX" and "MEX" appear in yellow neon within two branches. A yellow arrow points towards the restaurant in the third and smallest branch. The base is a rectangular platter outlined in yellow and red with the word "BURRITOS" in white neon.

The second part of the presentation is a horizontal rectangle mounted flush to the building. It is outlined by a single continuous line of yellow neon. The face reads 'PHILLY CHEESE STEAK" in bold, red outlined letters across the top half. Along the bottom in blue, single tube-width capital lettering is "BURGERS • WINGS • DAWGS • FRIES".

During daylight hours, you can see the backgrounds of both signs are painted bright green - the cactus in three shades. Also more noticeable are variegated green leaves at the base of the cactus.

As of this posting date, there are two Baja's locations on Thayer Street. This original shop is further north and on the same side of the road. (The other place has an internally lit sign; though similar in design and style, it's not nearly as fun!)
