As one of five Southern Gulf Island that is a served by BC Ferries, Galiano Island is a popular destination. The Sturdies Bay Ferry Terminal is extremely busy during the summer and school vacation periods as visitors drive, cycle, or walk onto the island from the frequent sailings.
This is the only active ferry terminal on the island with several sailings each day connecting people to Tsawwassen, Mayne Island, Salt Spring Island, Saturna Island, Pender Islands, and Swartz Bay.
