Lee (owner of the Gladewater Mirror newspaper) ca. 1950; former home of KSIJ Radio Station and recording studio, offices, and apartments; four-story building with flat roof, brick cladding, original metal casement windows, and wrap-around cantilevered balconies with decorative iron railings; three-story cast concrete door surround with glass block and marble cladding over front entrance; original clock on façade above entrance; ground floors remain open, unoccupied commercial space with occupied apartments and businesses offices on upper floors; recording studio and radio station equipment remain on top floor and are currently operating as a recording studio; interior includes original elevator and curved walls along interior corridors; former KSIJ radio station has an association with Elvis Presley through former DJ Tom Perryman; reportedly in November or December 1954, Perryman booked the then relatively unknown Elvis Presley (and bandmates Scotty Moore and Bill Black) to play at Gladewater's Mint Club (that was on S. Tyler Road near the Sabine River) when Elvis and his bandmates were in Shreveport (www.scottymoore.net/gladewaterMC.html)."
