Ami intime de Rops, photographe et peintre méconnu, Dandoy a laissé une oeuvre d'une richesse remarquable pour le patrimoine namurois.
Scruter les paysages à l'infini, chercher inlassablement le moindre détail, Armand Dandoy (1834 - 1898) a promené son chevalet sur toutes les routes de la province de Namur au siècle dernier. Pourtant, de son vivant, Dandoy, qui appartient à l'école réaliste, n'a jamais eu la reconnaissance du grand public. Il y a bien eu, entre 1869 et 1879, l'édition d'une partie de son œuvre
La pompe de la place de l’Ange est l’œuvre du sculpteur et architecte namurois François-Joseph Denis et date de 1791.
L’ange sonnant de la trompette est en plomb doré. Le monument est en calcaire de Meuse posé sur un emmanchement en petit granit.

Als goede vriend van Rops, een onbekende fotograaf en schilder, liet Dandoy een werk van opmerkelijke rijkdom na voor het erfgoed van Namen.
Om de landschappen tot in het oneindige te scannen, om onvermoeibaar te zoeken naar de kleinste details, wandelde Armand Dandoy (1834 - 1898) in de vorige eeuw op alle wegen van de provincie Namen zijn schilderingsezel. Tijdens zijn leven heeft Dandoy, die tot de realistische school behoort, echter nooit de erkenning van het grote publiek gekregen. Tussen 1869 en 1879 werd inderdaad een deel van zijn werk gepubliceerd
De pomp op de “Place de l'Ange” is het werk van de Naamse beeldhouwer en architect François-Joseph Denis en dateert uit 1791.
De engel die de trompet laat klinken is gemaakt van loodgoud. Het monument is gemaakt van Maaskalksteen op een kleine granieten trede.

In order to scan the landscapes to infinity, to search tirelessly for the smallest details, Armand Dandoy (1834 - 1898) walked his easel on all roads in the province of Namur in the last century. However, during his life Dandoy, who belongs to the realistic school, never received the recognition of the general public. Between 1869 and 1879 a part of his work was indeed published.

The angel that makes the trumpet sound is made of lead gold. The monument is made of Maas limestone on a small granite step.
