In 1821, Danish sculptor Bertel Thorvaldsen created a marble statue of the resurrected Jesus Christ for the Church of our Lady in the Danish capital Copenhagen. By many, this statue is considered one of the most perfect depictions of Jesus Christ and copies of it can be found all over the globe, from the Temple Square in Salt Lake City to Legoland.
The original 10.5 feet tall statue is made of Carrara marble - the Potsdam copy is an electrotyping statue made of ""galvanoplastic bronzes." |
