Harvest Caye is a new Caribbean resort type island port developed by Norwegian Cruise Lines. It opened in November 2016. I was developed with the mission to support the local economy and provide visitors with an educational experience about the flora, fauna, and culture of Belize.
The Wildlife Experience on Harvest Caye functions as both an educational and a rehabilitation center. The large aviary allows birds to fly freely within the thatched roof enclosure. The aviary features the beautiful Scarlet Macaw and the national bird of Belize the Keel Billed Toucan.
