"Born in 1955 from the union of two former private properties, Astrid Park, about 2 hectares in size, with its curved layout, pond, playground and a few remarkable trees, was opened to the public in 1960. It is also a place where schools, the Conservatory, the library and the Jambes festival hall meet or simply a place for relaxation and strolls. We can also see the reconstruction of the staircase of the former Town Hall of Jambes, destroyed in the early 1990s.
In this green space, we can observe a blue cedar, a large American red oak, a black walnut, a Chinese fir, a red beech, and a giant redwood located just in front of the primary school. On October 17, 2016, the circumference of the tree trunk, measured at a height of 1.50 m, was approximately 5.50 m. The height was exactly 33.60 m."
