Sculpture of the Canarian princess Atidamana or Andamana (actually Andamana de Gáldar) by Carmina Alemán, created in 2007, in Plaza Pio XII.
Andama was the first queen in Gran Canaria and, thanks to her diplomacy and marriage, was able to unite the island, which had previously been divided into many cantons. This happened at the beginning of the 15th century. Their rule ended at the end of the 15th century with the conquest of the island by the Kingdom of Castile.
The reddish stone sculpture on the right side of the Alameda shows a nearly life-size woman holding a basket of chorizos on her head, accompanied by a child.
According to the artist, who gave the work to the community, the figure tries to convey the heritage of the woman and the traditions, integrating the basket with the chorizos as an identification element of Teror.
On the concrete pedestal there is a plaque on which it is written:
