On Canada's 100th anniversary of Confederation McDonald's opened its first restaurant in Canada and the first McDonald's outside of the United States.

As of 2019, there are over 35,000 McDonald's locations around the world in almost every country. But this location is the site of the first McDonald's to open outside the United States.
While the current building is a modern version of McDonald's restaurants, the location has had McD's since 1967.
