Translation of the above noted text:
The windmill of Vincelotte is a flour mill built in 1690 and 1691. The building consists of a cylindrical stone tower, topped with an octagonal roof. The windmill of Vincelotte is located along the St. Lawrence River at Anse-à-Gilles, in the municipality of Cap-Saint-Ignace. Geneviève de Chavigny sells, by inheritance, the seigneury of Vincelotte to her son Charles-Joseph Amyot de Vincelotte in 1690. Navigator, lieutenant in the navy and militia commander of the south coast, Amyot de Vincelotte is an important person in history from the Côte-du-Sud. The new lord quickly began building a windmill along the St. Lawrence River. The mill ceases to be used in the mid-nineteenth century, while a water mill is erected in the lordship. After several years of vacancy during which it loses its roof and its mechanisms, the mill is restored first by the Commission des monuments historiques in 1924.
