The arena is a single pad with seating for about 1,000. All of the town of Goderich's hockey teams play here. There are also a number of summer hockey programs for those who want to hone their skills.
Also using the arena are the Goderich Skating Club (figure skating) and Goderich Ice Crushers Ringette club.
Sifto operates the world's largest underground salt mine at the Port of Goderich.
The Maitland Recreation Centre is a joint venture between the YMCA as operators and the Town of Goderich as builders and contributors of operating funds. The building was officially dedicated on January 9, 2004.
