History
There was a castle at Wavignies with stables, gardens, a greenhouse and a park. All on 3.5ha. It was destroyed by the Germans in July 1944.
After the disappearance of the castle, the park was used as a football field by the local club (ESW) for thirty years.
Purchased by the company Sogéfoncier, this property was divided into two parcels:

- The lower part, with an area of 1.6 ha with access by the streets of Tortillard and Henri Vincenot, was sold to the municipality by the company Sogéfoncier for a symbolic euro.
