A ten-foot tall iron Admiralty anchor stands between the signs for two shellfish businesses on the western shore of Narragansett Bay in North Kingstown, Rhode Island.

This appears to be long retired with a dark and rough-textured, yet clean, surface. It is mounted vertically, its crown resting on a weathered timber and wrapped with a loop of twisted rope line. A few feet of chain links hang from the head.

Started in 1986, American Mussel Harvesters, Inc. and Salt Water Farms are now "one of the largest producers of mussels in North America..." and have "integrated oysters and clams into [their] harvests." The companies embrace and practice sustainable, blue/green farming achievements and initiatives according to their websites.
