This double-lane bridge has three spans of pre-stressed concrete decking, supported on a 'A' shaped concrete pier that is centred in the Merriwa River, with a shorter double-pier of concrete on the eastern river bank. There are concrete abutments, with earthen approaches to either side as the Golden Highway crosses the river. [On the eastern side of the bridge, the local name of the street is Telfer Street.]
There is no pedestrian protected section to the bridge, and the sides are protected with rectangular metal railing. The deck would be about 7 metres above the normal level of the Merriwa River.
