"The South aisle chapel is dedicated to our Lady, the Virgin Mary. The interesting reredos was restored and moved from the north aisle in 1994. Originally, part of the altar tomb of Richard Wythnale who died in 1439, the central panel, although somewhat weathered, is now recognised to be a rare iconic “Lily Crucifixion” of historical significance, there being only two other known sculptured stone examples in the United Kingdom."
