A bronze bust of Pricess Elisabeth Ludovika of Bavaria is placed on a 30 ft tall Ionian Column outside Charlottenhof Palace in the old Prussian capital Potsdam, Germany.

Elisabeth Ludovika was the wife of Frederick William IV of Prussia, who ascended to the Prussian throne in 1840. Charlottenhof Palace was one of the summer residences of the royal couple.

The bust was created around 1825 by Prussian sculptor Christian Friedrich Tieck. It was placed on the column after Elisabeth's death in 1873.

Excerpts from her biography at Wikipedia:

Elisabeth Ludovika of Bavaria was born on November 13, 1801 in Munich as daughter of King Maximilian I Joseph of Bavaria and Queen Friederike Karoline Wilhelmine Margravine of Baden.

On 29 November 1823, she married the future King Frederick William IV of Prussia. Becoming Queen consort of Prussia in 1840, she was never without influence in Prussian politics, where she was active in preserving the close friendship between Prussia and the Austrian Empire.

After the king's death in 1861, Elisabeth dedicated herself to charity work in memory of her late husband. She died in 1873 and was buried next to her husband in the crypt of the Church of Peace in Potsdam.
