The Visitor Information Centre is in a wood clad, corrugated-iron covered, hip roofed building, near the Railway Station and Coach Terminal. There is a 5 foot awning to the north (entrance). The couple of times that I have been in Byron Bay in the last couple of years it has always been too early in the morning for the Centre to be open.
The Information Centre can put together: Family, Backpacker, Corporate, or Couple packages of accommodation. Apart from being the most easterly part of Australian mainland, with the iconic Lighthouse on the headland, there are many drawcards to this section on the north coast of NSW. If surf and beaches is 'your thing', then you have the right destination. But there are also multiple public golf courses the staff can point you to, and find out a 'Tee-off' time. (
