The Johnny Bench Baseball Museum honors Johnny Lee Bench, born December 7, 1947. He was a highly-awarded Major League baseball catcher, playing for the Cincinnati Reds from 1967 to 1983. Wearing No. 5, he won numerous awards, was a 14-time All-Star selection, and a two-time National League Most Valuable Player.
The museum was closed at the time of our visit, but photos on the museum Facebook page Museum show many of the displays of bats and gloves used by Bench, as well as his uniform shirts and trophies. Photos and paintings of Johnny Bench, as well as information on his career statistics are on display. Johnny Bench was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York in 1989.
