"Situé au sud-est de la ville de Lourdes, le massif du Jer, c'est en réalité le Petit Jer (reconnaissable à ses trois croix) et le Grand Jer (une seule croix, altitude proche des 1000 m.). Après les apparitions de 1858, des aménagements sont créés permettant de faire découvrir aux pélerins les montagnes autour de la cité mariale.
Le funiculaire permettant d'accéder au sommet du Grand Jer est inauguré en 1900. Dans les années 1930, deux téléphériques (un pour le Béout, l'autre pour le Pibeste) sont également créés et concurrencent le funiculaire. De nos jours, seul le funiculaire est encore en service. Le Pic du Jer, c'est une très belle promenade (panorama extraordinaire) mais également un fantastique retour vers les années 1900. Unique !"
