On the lower, cast bronze plaque, from Australia's Bicentennial, is the following text:

Gordon Public School
Gordon Public School, known formerly as Lane Cove
Public School, was built in 1876 following the
establishment of earlier Church and private schools.
It is the oldest school building in Ku-ring-gai.
This plaque has been erected as a Bicentennial
Project funded by the Australia Bicentennial
Authority & Ku-ring-gai Municipal Council 1988
Lower Plaque
Access: Parking will be an issue if you come during working hours, so public transport may be a good option. The ex-School is right beside the Ku-ring-gai Library, so while in the area it it possible to get a few waymarks, to make it 'worth your while'.
