On the west facing sandstone block wall of the 'Gordon Public School', are two plaques for the history of the previous School.

The 'plain', engraved, upper brass plaque reads:
	   CENTENARY
	  1871 - 1971
	The Hon. A.H. Jago, M.L.A.
		Minister for Health
Officially unveiled this plaque to commemorate the
Centenary of Public Education at Gordon Public School
The Hon. C.B. Cutler, Ed. MLA.
Deputy Premier and Minister	D.J.A. Verco MA, D.B.
For Education and Science	Director-General of Education
		G. Bell, Principal

Upper Plaque

On the lower, cast bronze plaque, from Australia's Bicentennial, is the following text:

	[Bicentennial logo]
	Gordon Public School
Gordon Public School, known formerly as Lane Cove
Public School, was built in 1876 following the
establishment of earlier Church and private schools.
It is the oldest school building in Ku-ring-gai.
This plaque has been erected as a Bicentennial
Project funded by the Australia Bicentennial
Authority & Ku-ring-gai Municipal Council 1988

Lower Plaque

Access: Parking will be an issue if you come during working hours, so public transport may be a good option. The ex-School is right beside the Ku-ring-gai Library, so while in the area it it possible to get a few waymarks, to make it 'worth your while'.
